This was a big day. Today I watched my first true Brazilian futebol game with crazy Brazilian fans. The local team is Gremio. They are #1 in the Brazilian league. Today they played a team called Vitória. We watched the game at Bernardo’s cousins house with his cousins and about 7 other people. It was amazing. Just imagine the emotion you would feel watching your favorite team play in the final of the world cup and multiply it by 10. That is how crazy these guys were. They also happen to be some of the same guys I played Futsal with the other day. Every foul or shot or offsides call or interception they went crazy, cussing in Portuguese and screaming at the screen. They would get up and walk around yelling and punching things. It was awesome. I plan on becoming just like them by the end of the year. Gremio won 2-0 so they were satisfied. I can’t even imagine what it would’ve been like if they had lost.
I had more Churrasco (shoo-ha-scoo), which is like Brazilian BBQ. It is amazing! It’s so much better than American BBQ. I got to meet Bernardo’s grandparents and some more of the family. School is tomorrow, and I’m really excited.
