Like three days ago it got REALLY cold here and since we don't have a heater the house is always really cold. Today at around 8am it was 4 degrees Celsius (39 Farenheit) while at the same time in Olympia it was 4am and it was warmer than here. I've never really experienced this type of cold before Brazil. It's the kind of cold that creeps into your bones, it's horrible. I sleep with 5 covers and today I went to school with shorts, two pairs of pants, two shirts, a sweater, a sweatshirt, a jacket and a hat. Here's what I wear when I'm indoors:

Coitadindo! Your brother is running around with just his swimming trunks on right now. He's been swimming in Liam's new backyard pool this morning. It's 10:30AM here and it's 61 degrees, heading toward 78, if you can believe the forecast.
Wow that is crazy. I wish I was there! hahaha
It's gonna be a big shock when I get back in the US.
Hey Lucas,
This is Sascha from Oly. Hopefully this isn't too random, I remember you telling me a while ago that you were going to be spending a year in Brazil. It sounds like you're doing some really incredible things and having a really amazing time. I've been been thinking about what I want to do next year, and I am considering spending a year in Latin America. Brazil is definitely a place that I am thinking about both because I'd love to learn Portuguese and because there's a ton of interesting stuff going on in Brazil. Maybe we'll get in touch when you get back and you can give me some pointers and some recommendations.
Coming back IS going to be difficult. In my experience, the culture shock of coming back from Latin America has always been worse than the culture shock of going there. My suggestion is to stay as busy as you can once you get back whether that means hanging out with family, friends, working, or anything else you can think of.
Take care buddy,
hope all is well,
Sascha
Ya I'm having a really good time here. I love it. We should definitely get in touch, maybe we could go kayaking again. haha. Do you still use your Myspace?
Thanks a lot man, that actually makes me feel better knowing exactly what I'm in for and how to get through it. The thought of going back has been floating around in my head more and more now that I'm getting closer to going home and I'm not exactly sure what it's gonna be like. Thanks again though. Can you give me your email?
The Kayaks are there whenever you want to use them. Anytime you want to go out in them give me a call. My email is saschaf@riseup.net.
I use Myspace occasionally, though I'm super busy these days so I don't check it all that much.
Anyway, hope you're having a great time (which it definitely sounds like you are)Don't worry too much about coming home. I'm sure you will go back to Brazil and it sounds like you will have a family and friends waiting for you when you do!
Alright thanks man. We'll definitely go kayaking when I get back.
Hey buddy I love you a ton. It's super hot back here. It was over 90 for two days. It is averaging 73 or so. I want you back
Dude, I know, I wanna be in that heat! I'll be coming round the mountain when I come, aka July 12 at 10:12am.
